How has the office environment changed fraud in our post-pandemic world? As the economic landscape continues to shift, there’s been a noted a change in the mindset that leads perpetrators to commit fraud. Previous cases and examples generally focused on pressure or a specific financial need; now it’s RETRIBUTION. This session includes recent cases of Retributive Fraud, a description of why and how this mindset changed, along with select processes and internal controls designed to help organizations understand and better deal with the changing work environment. At the end of this session, attendees will:

1)    be able to explain what retributive fraud is and how it differs from traditional need-based fraud.
2)    understand and be able to define moral disengagement and its effect on the current workforce.
3)    be able to identify ways to handle the behavioral side of fraud along with the organization’s regular internal controls.
