Presenter and Moderator Bios

Presenter: Darren Hutson, Sr. Analyst – Financial Data & Operational Analytics, Southern States Cooperative

Darren Hutson has shaped his career in the cooperative world for nearly two decades, focusing on data and how it can be leveraged for financial and operational use. Whether it is an ad-hoc report, a fully interactive dashboard, or coordinating a forecasting process, telling the story at hand while bringing people together is his driving force. Southern States Cooperative, an Agriculture, Farm Supply, Feed, and Energy Cooperative based in Richmond, Virginia has been his team since he entered the work force out of Virginia Commonwealth University where he graduated with his business degree. In his current position, he supports the management team with data mining and analysis while providing unique perspective from his hybrid background in accounting and operations. Working closely with the various departments in the corporate office as well as the field personnel of the cooperative lends to the opportunity to facilitate open communication and a “One Team” culture that is crucial to their values. Darren is a proud father of two daughters and has been married to his wife, Mary, for 23 years. He enjoys refereeing basketball and volleyball as well as finding his next new culinary experiment.
