Please join us for our Cyber Crimes Trends-2021 Update CLN. Speaking at this event will be Mark Eich, Principal of the Information Security Services Group at CliftonLarsonAllen, and moderating will be Bill Erlenbush, Director of Education for NSAC. This session will explore the threat that hackers pose to all businesses, and just how prevalent they are. Hackers have learned to profit from their activities. Virtually every industry segment is affected, including state and local government entities. Any organization that stores personal financial information on the network or conducts online cash management is a potential target. In addition, new trends in ransomware have shown the ability to cripple entire networks. As a result, any organization that relies on its technology being available is a potential target. In addition, payment fraud targeting wire transfers, automatic clearing house payments, and credit cards is increasing at an alarming rate. Historically, hacking has been a high-risk issue only for banks, but attackers are now targeting all businesses in an effort to access bank funds via online payment methods. The session will describe the threat landscape, discuss regulatory efforts to address the threat, and provide insight on how business leaders can effectively address this emerging threat.

Discussion topics:
• What is cyber crime?
• Payment fraud trends and tactics hackers are using
• How and why hackers are targeting you
• Common information security weaknesses
• Solutions to help minimize risk
