This session focuses on the income statement and the reporting of electric cooperative operating results under the Uniform System of Accounts (USOA). Participants will explore operating revenues, operating expenses, and non-operating income and expense items, while gaining insight into how financial performance is measured and reported. The course will provide practical examples to help attendees better understand cooperative revenue recognition, cost classification, and overall financial results.

Presenter and Moderator Bios

Presenter: Josh Link, CPA, Audit Manager, Bolinger, Segars, Gilbert & Moss, LLP

Josh Link is an Audit Manager at Bolinger, Segars, Gilbert & Moss, LLP. (BSGM). He is a native of Aledo, Texas, and graduated from Aledo High School in 2008. He graduated from Texas Tech University in May 2014 with a BBA in Accounting and a Master of Science in Accounting, and obtained his CPA Certificate in March 2016 and joined BSGM in December 2017. He is active in the firm's audit practice with emphasis in electric cooperatives, financial institutions, and employee benefit plans.

Josh is also a member of other professional organizations including Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives, and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Moderator: Wayne Sine, CPA, MBA, Education Director, National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives

After retiring as Tax Director of a regional supply cooperative on the East Coast, Wayne Sine was asked to serve as Education Director for NSAC. As an active and long-term member of NSAC, Wayne previously served as Chair of NSAC’s Tax Committee, President of the Atlantic Chapter, and was a recipient of NSAC’s Silver Bowl Award. In addition to his work with NSAC, Wayne has also served on the Legal, Tax, and Accounting (LTA) Committee of the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives, Chaired the Tax Committees for both the Virginia Chamber of Commerce and the Virginia Manufacturers Association, served on the Tax Policy Committee of the Virginia Society of CPAs, and served as Region Vice President for Tax Executives Institute.
