Course Description

This 1 hour session will begin by first establishing the definition of cloud computing, then describing the various service delivery models of a cloud computing architecture, and the ways in which clouds can be deployed as public, private, hybrid, and community clouds, followed by a much deeper review of the security and privacy issues related to cloud computing environments.

Presenter and Moderator Bios

Presenter: Keith Milburn, GROWMARK

Keith Milburn began his career in the GROWMARK System in September 1987 with Twin County Service Company (Southern FS) and served there during a 10-year period in various roles including Location & Area Manager, Precision Farming Coordinator, and IMS Coordinator. From April 1997 through December 2004 he served in numerous roles at McLean County Service Company (Evergreen FS) including Precision Farming Coordinator and IT Director. In January 2005, Keith joined GROWMARK as the Marketing Services Manager working directly with member cooperatives, region staff, and division staff in many areas of marketing including the GROWMARK Annual Sales Program and M.A.R.C. of Excellence. He accepted a position in the Northern Region in September 2007 as Agronomy Marketing Director working directly with member cooperatives in all areas of agronomy marketing. He coordinated implementation of marketing programs with the Agronomy Division and provided supervision to the FS Seed District Sales Managers. In May of 2009, Keith was named the Director of IMS for GROWMARK and responsible for all development, marketing, pricing, support, training and installation activities necessary for computer systems offered to member cooperatives, subsidiaries, retail divisions, and customers in the U.S. and Ontario. In August 2012, he was named Senior Director, Information Technology (CIO) providing long-term direction to the GROWMARK System on the use of computer hardware and operating and applications software by establishing directions, strategies, and standards to ensure GROWMARK’s leadership in the marketplace. And in March 2015, Keith was named the Managing Director Enterprise Transformation & CIO and will be the vocal and visible champion of the spark! project, (enterprise resource planning initiative) legitimizing the project’s goals and objectives, keeping abreast of major project activities, and continue as a key decision-maker for the project.

Delivery System

  • Confirmations will include log-in instructions.
  • Participants are able to participate using any device with an Internet connect (if the device does not have speakers, the participant can also dial-in) or they can participate with audio only by dialing in.
  • All registrants will receive a link to the CLN’s recording by email within 48 business hours of event’s conclusion.
  • There will be assistance available to help with technical and connectivity issues up to 10 minutes prior to the start of the presentation.

Registration

All registration is done on-line and each guest must provide their name and email address to participate. All NSAC members may register for free. Non-members may register for a nominal fee.

Refund Policy

NSAC will not issue refunds for CLNs. If a registrant is unable to participate in the CLN and provides notification to info@nsacoop.org 48 hours prior to the session, a credit will be provided for a future CLN. Alert the NSAC staff member monitoring the CLN if technical difficulties are encountered and technical support will be provided to eliminate problems with future CLNs.

Additional Information

Live participation is required for CPE credit and polling questions must be answered to document your active participation. All registrants will receive an email following the session with links to the slides and/or handouts, and a link to the CLN recording (unless otherwise stated). If you are unable to participate in the live session, you can still watch the recorded session, but you will not be eligible for CPE credits. Those eligible for credits will receive their certificate by email with 7 business days.
