In Tribute: Remembering Two Members of the NSAC Family

Published April 17, 2025

The National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives (NSAC) is deeply saddened to share the passing of two cherished members of our community. They will be profoundly missed for their presence, dedication, and the many ways they enriched our professional family. We extend our heartfelt condolences to their families, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.

Richard French

The NSAC community has lost a cherished friend, member, and leader—Richard G. French passed away on April 5, 2025.

Richard was a Past National President of NSAC and a recipient of the prestigious Silver Bowl Award—testaments to his outstanding leadership, service, and enduring impact on our organization. As the CFO of Sunkist Growers, Richard brought wisdom, integrity, and a cooperative spirit to every leadership role he held. His passion for NSAC was evident in his consistent willingness to lend a hand, share his expertise, and support his peers. But beyond his titles and accolades, Richard was truly beloved. He was always ready to help others, and his generosity and warmth touched the lives of many.

A service to honor Richard’s life will be held on May 2, 2025, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Simi Valley, California.

Though we mourn this loss deeply, we also celebrate the remarkable life Richard led. His legacy of leadership, mentorship, and compassion will continue to inspire us for years to come.

Patrick L. Kanda
