Eide Bailly, a Top 20 Firm based in Fargo, North Dakota, is expanding to Nebraska by adding Seim Johnson, a firm in Omaha, effective July 25.

The merger will add 20 partners and 70 staff members to Eide Bailly, which currently has more than 350 partners and nearly 3,000 staff in the U.S. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Seim Johnson is a $22 million firm, while Eide Bailly earned $521 million in annual revenue. Eide Bailly ranked 20th on Accounting Today’s 2022 list of the Top 100 Firms.

The two firms are already familiar with one another, as Seim Johnson is a member of the Eide Bailly Alliance, an association of non-competing CPA firms formed by Eide Bailly.

“Joining Eide Bailly will allow us to continue to serve our clients well and ensure our people have the opportunity to grow their careers in the ways that inspire them,” said Seim Johnson managing partner Jerry O’Doherty in a statement Friday. “Eide Bailly’s enhanced advisory services and thought leadership in our industry will provide our clients the tools they need to meet their goals. In addition, their workplace culture dedicated to innovation and professional development will allow us to attract and retain the brightest talent.”

The Omaha office will be Eide Bailly’s first in Nebraska. Eide Bailly has more than 40 offices in 15 states, along with an office in Mumbai, India.

“Seim Johnson’s commitment to understanding their clients’ organizations and delivering solutions with vision is a perfect match for how we approach client service,” said Eide Bailly managing partner and CEO Jeremy Hauk in a statement. “We are excited to welcome Seim Johnson into Eide Bailly and look forward to what we can accomplish together.” Last November, Eide Bailly expanded in Minnesota by adding PWB CPAs & Advisors, a firm based in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. In 2020, it added Mukai, Greenlee & Co. in Phoenix, Arizona, HMWC CPAs in Tustin, California, and Platinum Consulting in Fullerton.
