Our Finance Director recently announced her retirement after an impactful term at PCV. This role is critical to ensuring that PCV continues to operate effectively and serve our clients.
Position Overview
The Senior Account performs complex and routine accounting transactions, prepares analysis, reports, schedules, and reconciliations. As a growing organization, we have unique problems to solve on an ongoing basis. This is a wonderful opportunity for an individual that thrives in a start-up environment and enjoys new challenges. General Duties
- Ensure compliance with all financial reporting, federal and state regulations, GAAP, as well as accounting policies and procedures established by PCV.
- Assist with annual external audit, including preparation of audit request items and schedules.
- Produce and continuously improve financial statements and reports for internal audiences.
- Develop and implement new policies and procedures to improve coordination between program and finance staff.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements including the introduction of new software to increase efficiency and improve communication.
Budgeting
· Assist Finance Director and CFO in overseeing all financial, project/program and grants accounting; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund period; collate financial reporting materials for government, corporate, and foundation grants.
· Support the CFO and Finance Director in the annual budgeting and planning process.
- Collaborate with program leadership to integrate program plans into budgets.
Lending and Compliance
· Assist with lending capital compliance reporting including CDFI and SBA reporting.
- Assist with reconciling the lending portfolio with accounting system.
Procurement & Contract Management
- Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help support the procurement process, and to ensure that procurements are conducted in line with PCVs policies.
- Assist program staff in drafting contracts.
- Provide recommendations to improve and streamline procurement policies and procedures.
Operations Management
· Requires weekly in-office working hours in conjunction with other staff members.
· In coordination with CFO, manage outsourced IT company. In coordination with outsourced IT company, troubleshoot IT issues for staff.

Requirements
· At least three (3) years’ professional experience in Accounting or Business Administration in the non-profit field.
· Experience working at a financial institution, lending organization or nonprofit. Direct experience with a Community Development Financial Institution is highly desirable.
· Minimum Education: BA or BS in Accounting, Business Administration, or another related field.
Job Specific Competencies
· Accounting Principles: solid understanding of accounting principles and experience in grants management
· Software: Fluency with QuickBooks and Excel is required.
Location/Travel
This position will be based at our headquarters in Oakland long-term.
