This person will contribute to our success by performing a variety of General Ledger duties in accordance with GAAP. This person is responsible for operating as a key player of month end closing, maintaining our fixed asset ledger, and performing necessary analytical review; overseeing the inventory management process including serving as the main point of contact and liaison; and by completing daily banking, including duties such as checking bank accounts, deposits, and general management of bank accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Prepares journal entries, reconciles financial statements and accounts, and ensures data accuracy in accordance with GAAP
  • Plays a key role in month end closing, preparing periodic reporting schedules and disclosures, and in the year end audit process
  • Reviews and maintains fixed asset general ledger
  • Works closely with accounting manager and controller regarding capitalization policies for installations, refurbishments and replacement of fixed assets
  • Processes monthly machine inventory scans and report results to management
  • Performs analytical review as required, including researching variances between actual expense activities and budgets
  • Prints accounts payable checks
  • Prepares weekly and monthly vehicle fleet invoices for processing
  • Accounts receivable duties, including the following:
    1. Review accounts receivable aging reports weekly send out past due letters, make collection calls, and work with team members to determine course of action required. Provide aging reports with status updates to Controller as requested
    2. Create deposit for checks received as needed
    3. Process credit card payments for customers as needed and apply payments in system
    4. Invoice customer sales orders as requested
  • Performs monthly bank reconciliations for all assigned accounts
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Regular, reliable attendance required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a thorough understanding of general ledger, GAAP and ability to research related issues
  • Must possess intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel and basic to intermediate skills in MS Word and Outlook
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Must be detail-oriented, with good organizational skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, with high initiative and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required at time of hire

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year College
  • A minimum of three (3) years general ledger accounting experience, with a minimum of two (2) years experience preparing adjusting journal entries
