Presenter: Rebecca VanNattan, CPA, Partner, Heard, McElroy & Vestal, LLC
Rebecca VanHattan is a partner at HMV and joined when the firm merged with a Texas-based firm formerly known as Curtis Blakely & Co. in 2023. She works out of the Longview, Texas location. Rebecca provides tax and consulting services to a variety of individuals, corporations, partnerships, cooperatives, and not-for profit organizations. Her industry concentrations include telecommunications, utilities, and not-for-profits. She specializes in cooperative tax as well as state and local tax compliance, planning, and consulting. She has audit experience and regularly assists the audit department with tax provisions and disclosures. Rebecca is also a frequent speaker for various industry associations. Rebecca is a summa cum laude graduate of LeTourneau University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration. She joined Curtis Blakely & Co. in 2014 and became a Shareholder in 2022.
Presenter: Mitchell McCoy, CPA, Partner, Heard, McElroy & Vestal, LLC
Mitchell McCoy is a partner at HMV and joined the firm in 2013. He works out of the Longview Texas office. Mitchell provides audit and consulting services to various utility-related entities including telecommunication, electric, and water supply companies. Mitchell also services numerous commercial, non-profit, and employee benefit plan clients. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University, where he received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting. Mitchell is a frequent guest lecturer at area colleges and universities, has spoken at numerous state and national industry groups, and is active in HMV recruitment efforts.

After retiring as Tax Director for Southern States Cooperative, Wayne Sine was asked to serve as Education Director for NSAC. He has been a long-time and active member of NSAC, having served as past President of the Atlantic Chapter and past Chair of the Tax Committee. In addition to his work with NSAC, Wayne has served on the Legal, Tax, and Accounting (LTA) Committee of the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives, Chaired the Tax Committees for both the Virginia Chamber of Commerce and the Virginia Manufacturers Association, served on the Tax Policy Committee of the Virginia Society of CPAs, and served as past Region Vice President for the Tax Executives Institute.
