Course Description
Ms. Langer will review Form 1099 filing requirements for 2010, and the important changes in 1099-MISC reporting that are scheduled to take effect in 2011 and 2012. Agenda includes: - IRS and Congress: Tax law changes and the tax regulatory guidance issued to date, - Loss of the corporate exemption from 1099-MISC reporting – breadth and width of changes, - Expansive impact of the new requirement to report purchases of property, - Why now add “gross proceeds?” as a 1099-MISC requirement, - Review of basic W-9/TIN solicitation reporting requirements and what needs to change to prepare for 2012 - FATCA’s significant impact on AP unless carve-outs achieved in tax regulations, - P-Card reporting changes – effective January 1, 2011, - Information return penalties steeply increased, effective for TY 2010 filings.

Jerri L.S. Langer, JD, LLM, COKALA Tax Information Reporting Solutions, LLC, Ann Arbor, MI - is a nationally recognized information reporting and withholding consultant who provides a wide range of tax advisory services to many Fortune 500 companies around the world. She is a founding partner of the Cokala Tax Group, an advisory services firm offering experienced, efficient and practical help in meeting obligations for tax withholding, payee documentation, tax information reporting, and related issues including income classification. She is currently a member of the IRS Commissioner’s Information Reporting Program Advisory Committee (IRPAC). She received her JD and LLM in Taxation from the University of Florida - College of Law (1982) and is a member of the Florida and Michigan bars. Jerri authors many texts for Aspen Publishers, including the new AAPA Guide to Accounts Payable published by ASPEN in conjunction with the American Accounts Payable Association, an affiliate of the American Payroll Association.

Delivery System
- All programs are delivered using the Zoom platform.
- Confirmations will include log-in instructions.
- Participants are able to participate using any device with an Internet connect (if the device does not have speakers, the participant can also dial-in) or they can participate with audio only by dialing in.
- All registrants will receive a link to the CLN’s recording by email within 48 business hours of event’s conclusion.
- There will be assistance available to help with technical and connectivity issues up to 10 minutes prior to the start of the presentation.
Registration
All registration is done on-line and each guest must provide their name and email address to participate. All NSAC members may register for free. Non-members may register for a nominal fee.
Refund Policy
NSAC will not issue refunds for CLNs. If a registrant is unable to participate in the CLN and provides notification to info@nsacoop.org 48 hours prior to the session, a credit will be provided for a future CLN. Alert the NSAC staff member monitoring the CLN if technical difficulties are encountered and technical support will be provided to eliminate problems with future CLNs.
Additional Information
Live participation is required for CPE credit and polling questions must be answered to document your active participation. All registrants will receive an email following the session with links to the slides and/or handouts, and a link to the CLN recording (unless otherwise stated). If you are unable to participate in the live session, you can still watch the recorded session, but you will not be eligible for CPE credits. Those eligible for credits will receive their certificate by email with 7 business days.
