Course Description

This 60-minute CLN, Finders Keepers: Retaining Top Talent, will focus on strategies to retain an organization's number one resource, people! Designed to help participants define healthy what healthy turnover looks like in a healthy organization, the session will help those attending identify why people leave and what motivates them to to stay. How can those responsible for the organization's talent develop a strategy for keeping the best people but more importantly how can managers help keep that strategy moving in the right direction?

Presenter and Moderator Bios
Shawn Miller joined Morrison in 2016 and leads their People Solutions Services practice area, serving clients in industries including agribusiness, manufacturing and processing, distribution, health care, and non-profit, focusing on executive recruiting, organizational development, outsourced and interim human resources management, and human resources advisement and compliance. He has his SPHR (inactive), is Certified, Hogan Assessments, Certified, Targeted Selection Behavior Interviewing, Certified, Det Norske Veritas Loss Control Management System, Certified, ISO 9000 Internal Audit, and Industry Operations and Human Resources Background. Shawn's expertise includes strategic planning and mission development, compensation planning, leadership training, psychometric evaluations, succession planning, human resources audits / best practices assessments, and recruitment. Shawn previously served in human resources manager and quality & compliance positions for NIBCO, Inc., a manufacturer of valves, fittings, and flow control products that operates manufacturing facilities throughout the United States, Mexico, and Poland. Additionally, he has held operations or production manager positions at Dometic, overseeing their US based refrigerator manufacturing process; Global Building Products, a US based manufacturer of steel doors and windows for commercial construction; and Dutch Mills, Inc., a manufacturer of high-end furniture and cabinetry. Shawn also founded and operated a manufacturer of high quality furniture, cabinetry, and millwork products. Shawn became SPHR certified in 2003 and holds a bachelor's degree from Cedarville University, Ohio.

Delivery System

  • All programs are delivered using the Zoom platform.
  • Confirmations will include log-in instructions.
  • Participants are able to participate using any device with an Internet connect (if the device does not have speakers, the participant can also dial-in) or they can participate with audio only by dialing in.
  • All registrants will receive a link to the CLN’s recording by email within 48 business hours of event’s conclusion.
  • There will be assistance available to help with technical and connectivity issues up to 10 minutes prior to the start of the presentation.

Registration

All registration is done on-line and each guest must provide their name and email address to participate. All NSAC members may register for free. Non-members may register for a nominal fee.

Refund Policy

NSAC will not issue refunds for CLNs. If a registrant is unable to participate in the CLN and provides notification to info@nsacoop.org 48 hours prior to the session, a credit will be provided for a future CLN. Alert the NSAC staff member monitoring the CLN if technical difficulties are encountered and technical support will be provided to eliminate problems with future CLNs.

Additional Information

Live participation is required for CPE credit and polling questions must be answered to document your active participation. All registrants will receive an email following the session with links to the slides and/or handouts, and a link to the CLN recording (unless otherwise stated). If you are unable to participate in the live session, you can still watch the recorded session, but you will not be eligible for CPE credits. Those eligible for credits will receive their certificate by email with 7 business days.
