Darigold has a great opportunity for a seasoned professional to join our Finance team. As the Tax Director you are responsible for championing the strategy development and execution of Darigold’s tax planning, policy and compliance. This role plays a critical function on Darigold’s Finance team leading the management of corporate income tax and deferred tax provisions; analyzing the tax impact of current and proposed company activities; and developing strategies to minimize worldwide tax liability. The Tax Director is responsible for managing the tax department activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned):

  • Oversees all federal and state income tax returns including all related analysis and support.
  • Direct compliance of gross receipts, sales & use, property tax and other state and local taxes.
  • Oversee income tax provision under U.S. GAAP.
  • Manages the tax team, providing supervision, training and mentoring.
  • Manages the tax audit process.
  • Drive tax planning and developing strategies to reduce taxes.
  • Lead the process for identifying and pursuing tax incentives and credits at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Develop and maintain corporate tax policies and procedures for the company.
  • Partners with management to evaluate and forecast the impact of tax issues and incentives.
  • Responsible for championing best practices in the tax management at Darigold.
  • Manage engagements with outside tax consultants and advisors.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Expert level knowledge of IRS and state corporate income tax, laws and regulations and best practices.
  • Strong Knowledge of US GAAP tax
  • Self-motivated; demonstrates an ability to initiate and drive change in tax policies and processes.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with capacity to gain buy in, mentor and influence across all levels of the organization and its stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor and build a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and across the organization.

 Education, Experience and Certifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA required
  • 10 years of progressive tax experience and responsibilities with at least 5 year in public accounting firm
  • MBA or MS Tax Preferred
  • Expertise in cooperative taxation preferred
